Today I wanted to share a layout that I created with a sketch from Back Porch Memories. Here is a quick look at the sketch that inspired my layout.
Now for the layout!
To start I cut a scribbled circle out of white card stock on my silhouette. I layered papers from Maggie Holmes Open Book collection that coordinated with colors in my photo. I embellished a glitter tag with some fabric and chip board pieces. To finish off the layout I added lots of detail stitching around the page and added my journaling at the bottom with my typewriter. I loved creating this layout with a mix a light and bold colors. I have to say that I am always a sucker for a great sketch! Now for some detailed pictures. Enjoy!

Hi, today I am sharing a layout I did for the Sketch-n-Scrap challenge #73. Here is a quick look at the sketch by Kelly.
Right when I saw the sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I love paper piecing! I cut various papers from the Open Road collection by Crate Paper in the shape of a pie to create one big circle. I used different stitches to adhere the papers to the white textured card stock. To finish I embellished with a few small journal cards and tags to go with the absolutely adorable pictures of my little guys. Take a look!

Do you ever lay in bed and think about layout designs? A few weeks ago I saw this layout in my head one night as I was trying to go to sleep. The next morning I woke up and drew a quick sketch in a notebook that I keep for ideas. I kept thinking about the layout but I was waiting till I had the perfect pictures to add to the layout. Last Friday night we took our 4 little guys to get their picture taken with Santa. We have had the same Santa for the last 3 years and he is just amazing! I loved the picture that I took of him waving at my boys as they ran to him. That picture paired with some closeups of the tree and I was all set to create my layout.
I used scraps from my collection and die cut stitched squares to create a tree, complete with a star at the top. I layered embellishments around the layout till I felt like it was balanced and cohesive. I had fun creating this layout and it was great to see the image in my head come to life. I hope you enjoy and it inspires you to capture some special moments this holiday season.
Have a beautiful day!
I loved last weeks layout made out of Amy Tangerine goodies so much that I was inspired to look through my older collections. I love Amy Tangerine’s ‘Ready Set Go’ line from a few years ago. It has such bright, saturated colors.
For this layout I started with a kraft paper from Amy Tangerine that has the die cut LOVE in the corner. I chose to work a grid to complete the layout. I laid out the photo, then just started cutting various sheets of paper from the 6×6 paper pad.
I decided to go light on the embellishments and let the paper and the stitching be the highlight of the page. I treated each square as its own “mini layout”. For some grid blocks the paper was busy and I chose to just add a little stitching. On the simpler blocks I added just a few details to enhance the page.
Another layout that came together rather quickly but the final product packs quite a punch.
