Hi friends! Welcome to 2016! Today I wanted to quickly share a peek at my title page for my 2016 project life album. I do many different types of scrapbooking but I feel like this project is most dear to my heart.
I want to remember the everyday moments, the messy smiles, chubby handed hugs, the silly little songs and stories. These are the things that we so quickly forget. I have done project life for 5 years and I can’t tell you how much my family loves to look back and share memories of big birthdays and the little everyday moments.
If you have never done a project like this before I encourage you to start. You don’t have to do it just like me, or anyone else. Do what works for you! Wether it is a picture a day or a monthly spread, just start collecting everyday moments, document them and you are on your way!
Here is a look at the title page! I used cards from Clique Kits, One Little Bird and a few other goodies from my stash. I stuck with a simple color scheme to bring the page together quickly.
Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned for project life spreads and process videos coming all 2016! If you have any questions please let me know! Have a beautiful day & go capture some everyday perfection!
Hi friends! Today I am over on The Clique Kit blog sharing a layout I created using the new January kit Algeria featuring Fancy Pants collection Happy Place. You can visit the blog here or you can head over to the shop here and pick up a beautiful kit!
For this layout I wanted to keep the design pretty simple. I think that sometimes it is just as difficult to edit embellishments and papers out of a layout as it is to add them in. I love this photo of my little guy and I wanted the photo to really be the focal point and central focus of the layout. I felt that if I added too many embellishments it would take away from, and distract from the photo.
***Side note: For Christmas I received the photo editing program Rad Lab. I used Rad Lab to edit this photo in Photoshop and seriously…this program is AMAZING!!! You can check out their website here. I will share how to use this program in an upcoming Geek Lab. You will love it!***
Back to the layout… For the background I used white card stock and added a simple white line of stitching on the diagonal eye line of the paper to keep the eye moving on the diagonal. I placed my simple photo stack close to the center of the page and added some simple embellishments from the kit to frame the photo. To finish off the layout I added some enamel hearts and some ink splatters again along the diagonal to stay in the theme of the layout.
Here is a look at the final layout…
And a few close ups…
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a beautiful day!
Hi friends! So happy to be here today to share with you my first layout using the November Clique Kit Tapestry! This kit is full of rich colors, florals and fall icons. However I still had a few summer photos I needed to scrap so I challenged myself to bring out papers in the kit that would match the theme and feel of my summer photo.
I started with the exclusive cut file and backed it with 4 pieces of 6×6 patterned paper. I then backed the photo with some vellum to soften the lines between the photo and the background. I looked through the embellishments and chose coordinating bits and pieces. I just adore the final layout!
Take a look!
And a few close ups…
I love that no matter what a kit my look like it is always possible to make it work with a specific photo or theme that you have in mind. This month’s kit is just beautiful, make sure that you head over to the Clique Kits shop to get your own kit! Also, make sure that you stop by the Clique Kits blog to check out all the other design team girls inspiration, they are crazy talented!

Welcome to Clique Kits October Pep Rally! This is my first rally as a design team member and can I just say how awesome this is?! It is so fun that Clique Kits has subscribers contribute to the hop to share creative ideas and support one another!
Today I am sharing a simple layout using the exclusive digital cut files that came with the kit. I adore using my Silhouette for layouts so I am so happy that with every kit subscribers receive cut files and printables.
I used the background cut file and cut it out on white card stock and then backed it with the beautiful vellum from Crate Paper. I added a few embellishments from the kit and that quickly I was all done! Here is a look at the final layout.
And a few close ups…
If you would like to see a more in depth look at how this layout came together I have included a process video below!

Hi friends! Welcome back to my blog! Today I am sharing my fourth layout using the Clique Kits October kit called “Funfetti”. There are so many fun things to play with in this kit that I have been able to make so many layouts!
For today’s layout I started with a cut file that I found online here. I used the papers from the kit to back the cut file and that became the background for my layout. The rest of the layout came together so fast, just adding some embellishments and some watercolor to complete the design. Here are some photos of the layout and if you would like to see how it all came together you can watch my process video below.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! To get your own Clique Kit you can visit the store here. You can use my discount code to order other goodies from the shop, just enter CANDACE10 to get 10% off!

Hi friends! So happy to have you stop by my little corner of the crafty world! I hope that you are having fun hopping around getting to know the new design team members. I thought it might be fun to get to know me a little by answering these crafty questions…
Where do you create? I am blessed enough to have a little craft room when I can create and make a mess!
Favorite color to scrapbook with? Least favorite? I adore mint and white. I love white on white also. I tend to lean toward light, soft colors on my layouts. My least favorite would be a solid black or very busy backgrounds.
What is your favorite technique? I like stitching on my layouts. I think I stitch on almost every single one!
If you could create your own collection, what would be the theme? I like simple patterns and text backgrounds and universal colors that would match any event, so the collection could work with everyday moments to big events.
How long does it take you to complete a layout? It usually takes about an hour if I have a design already in mind but a bit longer it I am just “winging it”.
For todays hop I created a layout about me. The title of the layout is BRAVE. I chose this as the title of my layout because it is also my “One Little Word” this year. This year has been a big year for me. I have made a lot of changes in my personal and professional life this year and with each choice I had to force my self to be brave. This layout is a little nod to this brave year.

Hello again friends!
I am having so much fun playing with the October kit from Clique Kits “Funfetti”! Today I am sharing my second layout made with this fun kit. This layout came together so fast with the paper from Pinkfresh Studio already decorated so beautifully! All I had to do was add a few embellishments and exclusives from the kit to make the layout my own. Here are a few close ups of the final layout.
To get all the details on how I created this summer layout of my little guy you can watch the process video here!
Thanks again for stopping by! Have a beautiful day!
Hello friends! Thanks for stopping by again! Today I am sharing my 3rd layout made with the September Kit “Capture” from Clique Kits. I am getting so much use out of this kit and all the papers are so inspiring!
This layout is about the relationship my littlest guy has with his Daddy. He always wants to be right by his Dad. Whether they are just sitting and snuggling together or going on grand adventures together, this little 2 year old want to be right by his Daddy. It is just so sweet how much he loves his Daddy!
I found a song online called “With You Daddy” by Sawyer Brown. The chorus in the song had the perfect words, ” With you daddy, take me with you daddy Everywhere you’re going to, I just wanna be with you Right with you daddy, don’t leave me daddy Don’t you know that’s right where I belong.”
I took the lyrics from the song and cut them out on my Silhouette Cameo to use as the main focal point of the layout. I backed the cut file I created with the beautiful woodgrain paper from the kit. I then backed the photo with various papers from the kit and pieces of the exclusive cut files from September.
Using watercolor paints I added ink splatters to the top and bottom of the layout to create a diagonal flow. Before I adhered the photo stack I added some thread to add some additional interest. To finish off the layout I created a small embellishment cluster by the photo. I just adore this photo and I love how the lyrics to the song perfectly capture my journaling.
Take a look!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by! Come by tomorrow to see my next layout I created with the kit…think tags!
Hi friends! I am excited to share with you today my very first process video. I was so nervous putting this together! I am kind of a perfectionist when it comes to this type of thing so I still have a long way to go till I get all the kinks worked out. But…..I am happy with what I put together for my first try! If you are a pro at this type of thing I would love any feedback or ideas on how to make the videos better. On to the layout….
This is a layout I created using the September Clique Kit “Capture”. You can go to their website here and get more information on their kits and they even have a store that you can purchase other scrappy goodies from!
First are some still photos of the completed layout, then you can scroll down to watch the process video. Enjoy!
