Project Life 2016-Week 3

Hello scrap friends!  Here today to share with you my week 3 of Project Life!  This week I decided to add a little more color but still stuck true to my style of minimal embellishments with a focus on the story.  I love how it turned out!

Here is a look at the final layout…

How fun? Right? To get an idea of how this layout came together you can check out my video below!  Have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

Every Boy Should Be Like You

Today I am sharing a recent layout I did using the Bella Blvd Max collection and a few embellishments from the Ali Edwards Story Kits.  I have been seeing a lot of layouts lately using twine or embroidery floss and I was so inspired by these that I wanted to give it a try myself.  The idea of my layout is based on characteristics that every boy should have that my little guy William already has.  I used a little pie chart and the journal spots from the Ali Edwards story kit explain the characteristics.  Here is a look at how the layout turned out.

I have to say that I am kinda in love with how it turned out!  The Bella Blvd Max collection has got to be in my top 5 collections of all time for my boys.  It is just so fun and “cool” kid without being too “cutesy”.  The journal cards made perfect spots to highlight the things that I love about my little guy.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a beautiful day and find some everyday perfection!

One Little Word Wednesday-January Prompts

bravery doesn’t
happen overnight
has been living in your
bones, dormant,
but alive,
waiting for you
to see that it has
always been yours
waiting for you
to marvel when you
see that you can do
what you’ve always
wanted to do
and be who
you’ve wanted to be

I have loved spending the last few weeks really getting to know brave.  What does it mean to be brave?  How am I already brave?  Why do I crave to be more brave?  I love this simple little word that calls me to action already, that challenges me to be better, that forces me to push harder.  I have realized that I want so much more for myself in my life.  Not in terms of worldly possessions but in terms of character and experiences.  I crave new and exciting experiences that open my eyes wider to the world around me and expand my perspective.  I crave character building moments that carve me into the person that I want to be.

As I have spent time getting to know brave I have recorded my thoughts, feelings and inspiration in to my one little word album. I thought today I would share the cover page and first few pages of my album that is coming together.  Enjoy!

The cover page is vellum that I typed my word on and then stitched in place with gold thread.DSC_0531 DSC_0532 The second page has my prompts definition, quotation and reason why along with a few photos and a circle embellishment from the January “Firsts” kit from Ali Edwards.DSC_0533

One Little Word Wednesday-Brave

I am sure by now most of you have heard of One Little Word.  One Little Word is a concept put together by Ali Edwards and the main idea is that in January you choose one word to invite into your life over the next year.  A word that you want to remind you, encourage you and prompt you to make changes in your life.  In December I started thinking of the challenges in my life, the changes that I want to make and who I want to become, what I want my legacy to be.  As I thought about all those things one word kept coming back to me…brave.

I want to be brave enough to really look at my life.

Brave enough to change.

Brave enough to try, try harder, try again.

Brave enough to say yes.

Brave enough to say no.

Over the next year, along with prompts from Ali Edwards I will share with you my journey with Brave.  You will see how I am making this word more visible in my life, the changes, the set backs and the triumphs.  2015 will be a great year, a BRAVE year!
