It is only day one of 2015 and I already know this is going to be an amazing year! I am so excited for all the fun and exciting things that I have in store for you in 2015. I am going to be showcasing lots of amazing companies and releases on my “Friday Spotlight” series just like last year. Some other series returning this year will be DIY creations and different card series. In 2015 I will be bringing some new series to the blog also, including; “One Little Word Wednesday”. On OLW Wednesday I will be showing you how I am documenting and making my OLW more visible in my life. I will also be sharing regular layouts and pocket page scrapbooking ideas, sketches and digital files! But most fun of all is of course the giveaways! So exciting! So stay tuned and make sure that you stop back tomorrow for more exciting news!
Here is to 2015 and capturing more moments of everyday perfection.
PS – I can’t get enough of my little guys face in the snow. We don’t see a lot of snow in Phoenix so we took a quick drive up north to go on the Polar Express to see Santa. He just loved to feel the snow on his face. That is everyday perfection! Love it!
Do you ever lay in bed and think about layout designs? A few weeks ago I saw this layout in my head one night as I was trying to go to sleep. The next morning I woke up and drew a quick sketch in a notebook that I keep for ideas. I kept thinking about the layout but I was waiting till I had the perfect pictures to add to the layout. Last Friday night we took our 4 little guys to get their picture taken with Santa. We have had the same Santa for the last 3 years and he is just amazing! I loved the picture that I took of him waving at my boys as they ran to him. That picture paired with some closeups of the tree and I was all set to create my layout.
I used scraps from my collection and die cut stitched squares to create a tree, complete with a star at the top. I layered embellishments around the layout till I felt like it was balanced and cohesive. I had fun creating this layout and it was great to see the image in my head come to life. I hope you enjoy and it inspires you to capture some special moments this holiday season.
Have a beautiful day!
I usually finish the layout and other cards or tags for my Friday spotlight days before I post it on the blog. I did this same thing last week. Then I received a few more goodies from the collection on Friday afternoon. After I looked thru the ephemera and rub-ons I knew that I had to make some adjustments to my layout. Now there are many layouts that I have done that I don’t necessarily love but I don’t redo them. I firmly believe that how you create a layout can tell as much about the story as the story itself. I wanted to adjust this page because I felt that there were extra embellishments in the collection that would help me better tell the story of this moment.
I found an “R” in the ephemera pack and it just so happens that this is the day that we decided to name out little guy Ryder. I also loved the rub on that fit in to the coral frame.
This picture was taken on the 2nd day of my sweet boys life. I also added some other little elements in to the envelope with the journaling about this photo.
I added various rub-ons and arrows around the page. In the end….was it necessary to add to this layout..no, do I sometimes have a problem stopping myself from embellishing too much…yes. However, I am much happier with the layout now. What do you think???

Happy Monday! Today I am sharing with you some DIY journal cards. When it comes to pocket page scrapbooking I like to keep it pretty simple and use pre made cards. When I can’t find the right one or I am feeling extra crafty I like to make my own.
For these journal cards I started out with some chipboard WPlus 9. I used the Lawn Fawn stitched journaling card die in the 4×6 and 3×4. I wanted a subtle background so I chose to use Hero Arts Soft Sand ink to stamp my images on the cards. The woodgrain stamp is from Lawn fawn and the small anchor stamp is from October Afternoon. Oh, how I love anchors! The large blue anchor is from Kelly Purkey for Simon Says Stamp. To tie all the cards together I put a splash of red on each card. Super simple DIY! All the products are below, if you have any questions feel free to contact me!
