Today I am sharing two super simple cards. I have to say that I do love making intricate cards that take a lot of time. However, I definitely appreciate the impact of a simple card. I made a set of cards for my children’s teachers that included some of these simple cards.
Using some beautiful stamps from Technique Tuesday and Ali Edwards I stamped on vellum and sprinkled some glitter on the focal stamp. The sentiment was stamped with Staz on ink in black. To hide the adhesive I placed it behind the glittered image.
Although these cards were super simple to make and quick, I still think that they are elegant and they pack a punch!

Welcome to day 2! On day 2 of the holiday card series I am sharing a card with lots of die cutting.
To make the wreath I die cut 2 pieces of dark green, light green and vellum card stock. I layered them all together using a glue pen then placed it on a pice of vellum that I cut just smaller than a standard A2 sized card. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant “Winter Wonderland” stamp set. The tiny bows are also from Mama Elephant and I die cut them from some Lawn Fawn Christmas paper. It was a fun card to make! Welcome to a new blog series for this holiday season; Holiday Card Series. I am excited to share with you the first card.
This card was SO fun to make. I used a bunch of Mama Elephant goodies to make it a little easier. I started out with 120lb white card stock. I die cut a window from the Feme Frames die set. I then layered clear acetate and a little vellum over the wind to make it look like snow on the window.
To create a cozy scene inside I used the stamps and dies from Cozy Chritmas. To color the stamped images I painted them using Tim Holtz distress markers on a clear block. I simply scribbled some of the ink on to the block and then picked up the color with a paint brush and painted the images on watercolor card stock.
To finish the outside of the card I stamped some snowflakes in Versamark ink and brushed on some perfect pearls. I wanted the snowflakes to be very subtle. I finished off the card with my favorite ribbon from Tim Holtz that I secured to the card using Multi Medium Matte.
