For my second project I created a 6×8 spread all about my little guy who is turning 6 this month. I cut up one of the 4×6 cards from this month’s kit and placed the squares in the pockets. Such a fun way to tell a little more about what my little one likes right now!

Hello again friends! Candace back with you this month to share some quick tips on combining multiple collections on one layout.
One of the many things that is so wonderful about working with digital products is the freedom and ability to manipulate the products to fit your project. On a pocket page spread for any given week you are often working with many different themes and subjects. Combining different collections that cover multiple themes helps tell a complete story BUT might feel difficult as you are trying to balance and match color through the spread. Here are a few quick tips to help you combine themes and collections for a seamless spread.
Tip 1: Start by choosing all your cards. Look at all the photos for the week and decide what stories you would like to tell. Choose cards that will help you tell a complete story of your week. Don’t worry if the colors don’t match, just concentrate on which cards will help push your story forward.
Tip 2: Choose one collection to build your color palette from. By choosing just one collection to build your spread around you can make sure there is balance and all your colors match across the spread. This becomes very easy when you are working with digital products! All you need to do is use the eyedrop tool in photoshop to pick up the colors from the main collection and re-color the products that don’t match.
Tip 3: Use embellishments to finish balancing the weight and colors of the spread. If you are working with a few non digital products you can balance the spread by adding embellishments from your stash. Just find products in a similar color palette to the main collection you are using.
Just like that you have built a layout for the week seamlessly combining different collections but still finding balance and telling a complete story. This is what scrapbooking and memory keeping is all about! Thanks for stopping by today! Links to all the collections I used are below.
Have a beautiful day & go out and make some memories!

Hello again friends! Today I am sharing another traveler’s notebook spread over on the Clique Kits blog using this month’s beautiful travelers notebook kit. I love the small format of traveler’s notebooks and the ability to quickly put together a beautiful spread.
My little guy is completely obsessed with Snapchat right now. He constantly asks if he can see my phone and play. I love to hear his little laugh as sees his picture change. I knew I wanted to document this fun little tradition right now.
I started with the insert that comes in the new travelers notebook kit. I love the white pages! I thought it would be fun to use the word strips from Pinkfresh Studio to write a letter to Ryder about how much I love this time with him.
On the left side of the spread I inserted the word strips between sentences from my typewriter. For the right side of the spread I layered the photo on top of the grey circle paper from the Pinkfresh Studio 6×6 paper pad.
To add the final touches to the spread I added a few puffy stickers with bunched up thread underneath for texture and interest. I love the soft colors that play off the cute picture.
On your next spread try adding embellishments or word strips between your journaling for a fun new technique! You can check out the new travelers notebook kit, or our beautiful scrapbook kit here.
Thanks again for stopping by! Go make some beautiful memories!
Hello friends! Candace back with you today! I am excited after taking a few months off to make other fun projects to be back sharing a pocket page spread. My heart really is in documenting the weekly events and memories of our family.
For my spread this week I drew inspiration from a single card in the recent release, Between Us. This one card drove the overall design and color scheme of my spread. Here is a quick look at the whole spread, can you guess which card it is?!
If you guessed the adorable poka-dot card, you are right!
I just adore this card with the all the dots in colors from the collection lined up on little strings!
I started by opening up all the cards in Photoshop and adding my journaling. I had pictures in all the 4×6 slots so I knew I needed to cut down the dot card to 3×4 to fit into a middle pocket. I made sure to balance my colors across the spread and made sure that the photos and cards all had similar colors from the collection.
Next, for embellishing I searched through my stash for all my circles, and wood veneers. To mimic the idea of circles on a line across the spread I lined up the circle embellishments along the top and bottom of all the 4×6 cards. To add a little more detail I stapled the circles down to the photos.
After finishing with the circles I needed just a little more embellishing to complete the spread but I didn’t want to introduce any new colors so I added wood veneers. I choose 4 spots across the spread to add the wood to keep the spread balanced and keep the eye moving across the spread looking for the other wood accents.
There it is! I LOVE all the colors in this weeks spread! I love the repeated elements across the spread that keeps the eye moving.
On your next spread try using a card or embellishment to drive the colors and design of your spread & have fun! Thanks for stopping by for a little pocket page inspiration today!

Hello friends! I am so happy to be guest designing for Felicity Jane this month with the beautiful Caroline kit. When I saw the colors in the kit and the beautiful journal cards I knew that I wanted to use them to document week 14 in my Project Life album. The colors are the perfect match for our outdoor adventure photos along with the everyday photos.
One of my favorite things about the FJ products is their versatility. As a mom of all boys it is often hard for me to find kits that I can customize to meet our familiy’s memory keeping needs. With FJ I can always count on classic designs and colors that easily coordinate with all my photos.
I always start my spread with a title card. Every year I choose the same weekly title card to use all year long to keep consistancy through the whole album. I added the date to the title card with some mint ink that coordinated perfectly with the kit colors. I also added a puffy heart between the dates to bring in a little more color.
I spread the journal cards evenly across my spread to find balance in both color and design.
To embellish the 4×6 cards in the spread I used the stamp set and stamped sentiments in satz on ink. Again, to repeat the colors in the spread and bring added attention to the stamping I added the puffy arrows.
For the “Smile” filler card I punched out the sentiment from the sticker sheet with a 1″ inch circle punch and then lifted it up with a few foam squares.
I loved that I could use the stamp set with a “best friends” theme and use it in a new way. All you have to do is step outside the box and think about how these sentiments could apply to different situations.
I love the simple beauty of this card next to the flowers. So pretty!
I needed one more spot for journaling so I simply sent the photo through my typewriter and added it right to the front of the photo.
I just adore the final spread! It was such a pleasure working with the beautiful Caroline kit this month! I adore how the colors in the kit play perfectly with my photos and how I was able to step outside the box and use a “best friends” kit to tell our family’s everyday and adventure stories.
Thanks so much for having me! Now go out and make some memories to document!
Hello friends! Today I am on the Clique Kits blog showing you how easy it is to place your journaling in the perfect spot on the base of your layout.
For the base of my layout I started with a plain white 8.5×11 piece of card stock. I was inspired by a layout by Ali Edwards where she created a large title in the middle of the page with journaling to the right side and circles framing the bottom of the page.
I used various circle punches to punch out 3 inch and 2 inch circle photos of my hubby and I along with various papers from this months kit. Without adhering the circles down I laid out the spread and embellishments to get a good idea of exactly where my title and journaling would go.
After the spread was completely laid out I measured where I wanted the title and journaling to fit. Next, I opened a new 8.5 x 11 canvas in Photoshop. I made sure that the rulers were visible by clicking the dropdown menu “View”.
Next, again under the “view” drop down menu I selected “New Guide”. I created one horizontal guide 1.5inches down from the top and one vertical guide 4.25inches over from the left.
I created a text box and slid it right into the corner of the box the grid created. By keeping my journaling within the bounds of the grid I knew that my journaling would not interfere with the title or any of my photos and embellishments.
I printed out the journaling on the base of my layout then transferred the title, photos and embelishments.
It is just that easy to add your journaling into the perfect spot on your spreads! Check out the close ups of how the layout came together.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope this inspired you to use your computer and customize the journaling on your next layout. Let me know if you have any questions! You can check out this months kit in the store here. Here is another quick look at the kit in case you missed it!
See ya soon!
Hello again friends Candace here is share a layout using a combination of products from the April kit and the newly released Live Laugh Love collection. For today’s spread I started with the acrylic Dad piece, this is what drove my story. I considered what stories I might want to tell about my husband and his role as a dad.
The base of my layout is white 8.5x 11 card stock. I added my journaling to the left side of the spread and paired it with a full size picture of my husband and all our little guys. I wanted to add a few pops of color to contrast the black and white photo. I used the light green 12×12 paper from the LLL collection to separate the photo from my journaling.
For my mixed title work I combined the Dad acrylic with the black puffy alphabet stickers. I like the contrast of block alpha & script. To add a little more color to the layout I added some yellow stamping using the dot stamp from the Live Laugh Love stamp set to the top and bottom of my journaling.
For my final embellishments I added a label to the bottom of the spread to act as a home for my journaling date and the “thankful for this” puffy sentiment. I also placed a few of the wood veneer hearts and puffy hearts to balance color across my spread.
Such a fun and meaningful spread to put together! These are the stories that are important to capture!
On your next spread give these tips a try:
- Combine different types of letters in your title.
- Use products from your stash to spark a meaningful story.
- Pair a few different colors with a black and white photo to make it pop!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a beautiful day & go tell some stories!
