Technique Tuesday- Love is in the Air

Hello friends!  I am excited to share a few cards I created this month for Technique Tuesday!  A while ago I saw these stamps on the website and I just knew I had to pick them up and create some cute & funny cards with them!  With Valentine’s Day coming soon it was the perfect opportunity.

Project #1: A Little Prickly Stamp Set with Matching Dies

Living in Arizona we are surrounded by beautiful cacti so this stamp set is the perfect set for friends and family!  Not only are the images adorable and have matching dies, but even the sentiments are absolute perfection!  In my excitement I couldn’t stop and created two cards for my stash.

For my first card I die cut the three different cactus images and colored them in with watercolor pencils.  I popped up the images with dimensional adhesive on top of a neutral card stock base then adhered that to a black card to add contrast and help the black on the images pop!  I stamped the sentiment on green card stock and added a little rubber heart.

The second card started the same, with die cutting and coloring a single cactus.  I placed that single cactus on a starry background to go with the theme of the sentiment.  For the final touch I added a metal star to the edge of the cactus.  ACK!  I love this one!  I can’t wait to slip it into one of my boys lunch boxes.

Project #2: Love Stinks Stamp Set

I think this stamp set speaks for itself.  😉 As a mom of four boys I just HAD to get a poop emoji stamp set.  This set has gotten A LOT of wear already!  While I won’t share the cards my boys created with it; I will tell you that we had lots of good “clean” family fun & laughs!

For my card I just went simple.  I think that sometimes we make a little mistake and we need a little card that says “I’m sorry”.  A card that will bring a smile to the face and a little giggle.  A smiling poop will do that for you every time.

Project #3: You Aren’t Normal Stamp Set

Another great stamp set as a mom of boys!  This card will be making its way into a lunch box very soon as well.  😉 This simple card was created by stamping the sentiment on a starburst shaped chipboard and simply heat embossing a little red embossed heart.

Project #4: You Aren’t Normal Stamp Set

The final card I created with the You Aren’t Normal Stamp set was inspired by this little typewriter sticker from my stash.  After stamping on the background, adding a few clear sequins, and creating a small cluster with thread and stickers, I had a cute little base to place my sentiment.

I measured out the area I had available to place the sentiment and stamped the sentiment on a thick piece of white card stock.  Easy as that it looks like the cute sentiment is flowing out of the typewriter.  So cute!
