Friday Spotlight-Chic Tags

On Fridays I like to Spotlight a specific manufacturer or collection that I love.  This week it is Chic Tags!  What I love about Chic Tags is that no matter the layout, pocket page or card you can always find something from one of their collections to add to your project.  Today I am sharing one layout and two cards.DSC_0086

I started with a white 12×12 piece of card stock.  I cut down pieces of the Cloud 9 “Goodness” and “Lovely” patterned paper to be just slightly larger than my photo.  I wanted a little more softness to the aqua patterned paper so I spread some guesso over the front and layered a piece of vellum over it.  I knew that I wanted to focus on the mini icons as my main embellishment.

I pulled out some icons that matched the color scheme but I wanted a little more detail on the icons so I sent them thru my die cutting machine with a stitched circle die.  This added stitching around the circles and gave me a little circle frame.  As I was cutting I thought I could use the left over circles frames in to the layout too.

I placed the icons and circle frames around the photo then added some sequin rub-ons.  I love the look of stitching on layouts, so along the same line as the circles I added some stitching.

I finished off the layout by adding some sea-foam ink splatter from Hiedi Swapp. I also cut a light green transparency and a journal square to tuck behind the photo.

I just love the final result!

Now for the cards….

Super simple cards using the rub-ons in the Cloud Nine and Let’s Go collection as the focal point.
